Mount Kisco Soot and Smoky Smells

The Before Photo illustrates the sooty deposits on the walls of this stairway area in a Mount Kisco house. The fire originated from a space heater, as many do, and coated the sticky, soot deposits on all the surfaces. Our SERVPRO FRST fire and smoke damage technicians are IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) accredited and understand how to minimize the need to demolition any walls or ceilings. We try always to preserve and not replace building materials--less stress and cost for our customers. With our special chemical dry sponges and hand vacuums with HEPA filters, we can remove most of the residue. Then some pre-tested detergent and another wipe down, and most of the soot is gone, "Like it never even happened." Other crew members have been working on neutralizing the pungent odors with several hydroxyl generators. We are always ready to help.
